Every year, just before spring, the Professional Photographers of Canada hold their annual National Image Salon. This is where active/accredited members of the PPOC, from all over Canada, enter their best images to be evaluated by a group of highly qualified judges. These jurors view in excess of 700 images to determine those images worthy of being accepted into the Salon Exhibition.
Images deemed worthy of inclusion in the final Salon Exhibition are given a score of Accepted, Merit or Excellence. These images are then published in PPOC’s Annual Inspiration Books, which are beautifully bound 12″ x 12″ hard-cover albums.
Each year I watch the judging live online
even if it means waking up at 6:30am and am always blown away by the amazing images that are submitted.
My goal was to have at least two images accepted in the Salon Exhibition this year.
My goal was achieved- this year I received one Accepted and TWO Merit images!
Below are my submissions and results from the 2017 PPOC National Image Salon.
Title: “Wind Song”
Class: Fine Art
Score: Not Accepted
Title: “I Think We Need To Talk”

It was an extremely cold and windy day in October when I met Chris and Brooke for their engagement session at Bud Miller Park. I was worried we would have to cut the session short due to the cold but their connection and love for each other kept them warm and we ended up with some amazing images!
I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this summer.
Congratulations on your engagement Chris and Brooke!
All images from this session were shot with a Canon 5d Mark iii and the Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 lens.

From the moment I met Colby and Erika, over coffee at Second Cup, I knew I was going to love photographing their wedding. They were both so relaxed and easy to talk to and their love for each other was very apparent!
While they told me about their locations and some of the ideas they had for the wedding day, I was silently doing a happy dance. It was going to be AMAZING!
Colby and Erika tied the knot on July 23rd 2016 in Neilburg, Saskatchewan. It was a beautiful, outdoor, country wedding with blue and red rustic decor. Their wedding party was super fun and out going which made for some really great shots!
A big thank you to my second shooter and assistant for the day, Kimberly Steier.
Congratulations Colby and Erika!

Brinley was such an easy baby to photograph! She slept so well for her session and looked so peaceful in every image.
These are some my favourite images from Brinley’s newborn session in May.

My baby sister is having a baby, and soon!
My sister Christina and her husband (Andrew) are expecting their baby boy any day now (officially she is due July 10th)! We are all so excited and happy for them.
I can’t wait to meet my new nephew and take
hundreds thousands of photos of him!
I thought this would be the perfect time to share their maternity session that I did back in May…..

Families are my absolute favourite to photograph! I especially love seeing how my returning families have grown each year. Here are a few of my favourites from the Miller’s fall session…
